Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Sometimes you finds lots of treasures other days you go to 20 sales and find practically nothing. It happens. Today was one of those days for me. We went to a bunch of sales, and I only found one small treasure.

Here is my little treasure from today's adventure. I paid $2.00 for this little painting and picture frame. The sweet old lady I bought this from said her dear friend painted it and she had many other paintings and wanted to share the beauty of her paintings with others. I love this little painting, and the frame is such a pretty color.

I do hope you all had a wonderfully thrifty week!

Happy Things on Friday

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I am so excited about my happy finds this week because its so cute and fun. Washi tape or masking tape. Who knew the boring masking tape you would use while painting your house or for using as a stand in name tag could be so pretty now. It comes all different sizes, colors, and best of all PATTERNS!!! I found a ton of beautiful projects and rolls of washi tape online and I am so excited to share it my finds.

Oh the joyful colors this tape comes in. I just can't stop looking at these rolls of pretty tape.

Gingham. Do you have tons of inspiration when you look at these pretty tapes? I sure do.

WOW!!! I would love to wallpaper my wall with all those tapes.

I think my blog posts would be even more creative if I had this key board for inspiration.

The Wedding Party

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Yesterday I got to share the details of my sisters wedding, and today I get to share the people of my sisters wedding.

Lets start the post off with one of the professional wedding pictures. The photographer posted a few pictures onto facebook as teasers, and now I can't wait to see the rest of the them.

Ok I am just in love with Mr Joyful Thrifter. He looked so handsome in his suspenders and bow tie.

The Wedding Details

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I just love going through the wedding pictures from my sweet sisters wedding. I love how you could feel both her personality and her fiance's come through in the details of their special day. They both worked hard to make it a special day full of sweet touches from both sides. We all helped make their day happen, and it was a great day to celebrate the beginning of their life together.

The Dress. Everyone wore J Crew at this wedding. It was so fitting since that is my sister's favorite store.

The Groomsmen's outfits

The beautiful arch where they would say their "I Do's." My dad lovingly made this for my sister.

The photo booth back drop

Picnic blankets to spread out and enjoy the beautiful day on

The Cheerful Flowers

The Food. They had a taco truck do the catering, and the food was amazing.

My dad's truck help serve as a chip table.

The Center Pieces. Hand made tandem bikes by my dad. He is so talented and loves us so much.

The pie table. My sweet loving mom made 300 pies for my sisters special day.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWLYWEDS!!

I love details, so this post was so much fun for me to put together.  Tomorrow I will post "The Wedding Party." Everyone looked so lovely, and I can't wait to show off my good looking family.

Sunday Afternoon Joy

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

The weekend is coming to a close and I am enjoying my last bit of weekend looking through a belated treasure find. This book on tea is filled with great advice on making, drinking, and storing tea. Its a great book and looks brand new too. I bought it at Goodwill for $1.99 and the original price tag is on it for $16.95. I feel like I got a great deal.

I am also enjoying two new magazines that arrived in the mail yesterday afternoon. I love decorating magazines. They are filled with colorful inspiration.

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday afternoon, and are getting ready to start the week.

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I can't belive how long it has been since I have done a treasure hunt finds post. I have been thrifting but nothing has come home lately because not much was catching my eye. However, that all changed this week when I stopped at goodwill on my way home from work this week. I love the fun joy of never knowing what you will find when you walk into a thrift store. SO MUCH FUN!! I have been doing this for years, and it is still fun.

This week was a Pyrex week, which always makes me so happy. I have hardly found any Pyrex lately, so it was a joy to find some at a Goodwill that normally has nothing special to speak of.

I found these pretty coffee cups for $0.99 each. They had a whole bunch of them, but they are not super easy to drink out. Mr Joyful Thrifter and I have a thing about mug handles and we like GOOD handles on our mugs for daily use. These ones have more of a tea cup handle, so I bought two so I could share with a friend if they came over for tea. I do not have anything in this pattern so I was also excited about that.

The friendly Goodwill employee helped me spot this when she saw I was looking around for more Pyrex treasures. She showed me exactly where it was, and that I had missed it the first time I went down that aisle. Plus $2.99 is a great price for this beauty.

Side note. Does it make you sad when they use packing tape to keep the lid on? It makes me sad because it always pulls off the beautiful design on the Pyrex when you take off the tape. I would like to have a conversation with the person who does it and explain why they should use a rubber band or something else to keep the two pieces together. PLEASE PRESERVE THE PYREX! :)

Thank you for listening to my rant.

Finally the find that literally took my breath away! I am not just sounding corny because when I saw it sitting on the bottom shelf I said out loud "OH MY GOSH!" I could not believe that this beautiful dish was at this Goodwill. I snatched it up instantly. I couldn't believe the perfect condition it was in, and above all that this was one of the prettiest Pyrex dishes I have ever seen. I have also never seen it in real life. SO AWESOME!!! It was priced at $7.99, which I was more then willing to pay for an almost mint condition amazing piece of Pyrex.

Look at that amazing detail, and beautiful color. Pyrex Love has a bit more details on this lovely dish. The unofficial name of this piece is Spirograph.” You can click on the Pyrex Love link to learn more about why it is called that.

I got so many compliments from people as I carried around my coveted treasure. Everyone loved the pattern and the color.

I do hope you all had a wonderfully thrifty week!

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter
