Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I was sure that I would not have any treasures to show you this week, but I was surprised by an awesome estate sale and a quick stop to goodwill.
I just wanted to take a few minutes to share some husband love today
My Mr Joyful Thrifter spoils me tremendously! He bought me the IPhone 5 for Christmas, which I don't think I have put down since I got it. He also gave me a lovely necklace and a few other fun treasures. Then he took me to the thrifty stores this weekend. I am very blessed by my sweet husband. I LOVE YOU MR JOYFUL THRIFTER!!!

Alrighty I am done now. Onto the fun treasures that I found this week.

As we were driving to church this morning we saw a sign for an Estate sale. I probably would not have stopped but Mr Joyful Thrifter said we had a few minutes to spare, so we pulled over. The first thing I spotted was this little square table. In my mind I am jumping with joy because it is JUST what I have been wanting for my kitchen. I casually ask the man how much he wants for it, and he says needs to ask because he is not sure if it is even for sale. I was so sad for a second. After he checks he says "yeah its for sale, how about $20.00?" I look at the table and think good price but I am going to offer $15.00. The lady running the sale says how about $10.00 SOLD!!!
Then Mr Joyful Thrifter spotted these super cute yellow folding chairs. Perfect for my new little table. The seller said $10.00 for all four that she was selling. I asked if she would break up the set and I would give her $5.00 for 2 of the chairs. She was more then happy to just get rid of them.
Here is my cute kitchen from the family room with my new table and chairs. I think it looks so cute.
I spotted this old mirror sitting in a corner, and came to find out it was part of a dresser she was selling. I again got brave and asked if she would sell just the mirror to me. She was so glad that I was buying up so much stuff she said of course! She asked me if $5.00 was reasonable and I said ABSOLUTELY!!!
I can't wait to clean up this mirror and paint it!
As we were leaving and paying the lady I spotted this ladder from the corner of my eye. How much I asked, and she replied $3.00 SOLD!!! I have already started decorating this cutie.
Now onto my goodwill finds. This adorable needle point wall hanging was $4.99. I just love the little mushrooms in the left hand corner.
Sweet little flower painting for $1.50. I am nabbing these cute little paintings any time I see them for a wall collage I going to do in my living room.
Have you found any lovely treasures recently? If so please link up pictures to my Facebook page, or leave your blog link so I can enjoy in your fun.

Joyful Creations - Button Christmas Tree Ornaments

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I hope you all had a great Christmas! I know mine was lovely! It started on Thursday and did not end until Wednesday. After all of the Christmas festivities it is nice to be home and enjoying my little routine again. I guess I am a creature of habit. I was surprised by some lovely presents, and got to be around ALL of my family. So fun. On Christmas day my sweet mother in law planned a craft for us to work on. We try to make an ornament every year, and this years is just too cute.
Sweet little button Christmas tree ornaments. I thought they came out so cute, and they are so easy to make.

Supplies needed
-thin wire
-buttons
-Start out by making the trunk of the tree.
-then add larger buttons for the body of tree. Be creative and remember the tree part does not have to be green
-We topped all of our trees off with a cute star button. I wrapped the remaining wire into an oval so I could easily hang it on the tree.
My mother in law enjoying making the ornaments
All the girls joined in the fun
Did you do any fun crafts on Christmas day with your family?

Happy Things On Friday

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Christmas is so close! I hope you are all enjoying this season and eating lots of yummy cookies and looking at pretty lights.  Here are some pretty things to enjoy on this Friday afternoon.

~~House~~ More inspiration for the house. I just love this couch and decoartions. I can just imagine this in my living room/ I already have a similar couch and I just need to complete the rest of the loveliness.
~~Lovely Wear~~ Oh these shoes. I want to order them in all of the colors. They are just too cute. They would look cute with a pair of skinnies and a patterned top.
~~Crafty Goodness~~ I so want to make this t-shirt. I have several shirts that could use a bit more glitter and fun.
~~Cooking Fun~~ I am determined to make my own fruit leather this year because it is such a fun treat
Enjoy your Friday!

Joyful Baking - Christmas Cookies

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
Christmas is such a fun time for baking and enjoying lots of sweet treats. I have been wanting to decorate Christmas cookies since the beginning of December, and I finally got to! I knew I wanted to make the same cookies I used to make with my mom when I was little. My mom gave me the cook books with the recipes and with the help of a friend I think our cookies came out great! (or maybe I should say they were fun to make because they actually came out a bit silly looking)

Ok this is how the cookies should look like. Perfectly jolly and pretty.
Here is the reality of our cookies. Still cute just not quite the same proportions.
We had lots of fun making them though!
Once we ran out of cookies that sort of resembled santa's and angels we decided decorate them crazy.
The crazy ones taste the best because they have the most frosting and candy on them.
I love sharing fun adventures with friends!

Joyful Creations - Decorated Candle

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I know it is getting rather close to Christmas and the thought of making a Christmas present may sound very stressful, but I promise this is an easy and rather inexpensive idea.

Materials Needed for this project:
-candle
-burlap
-ribbon
Tools Needed:
-Glue Gun

I stopeed dead in my tracks when I spotted this burlap at Joann's. I had never seen printed burlap before, and knew it would be perfect for this project.
- cut the burlap so it can go around the entire candle. Make sure you leave enough to fold over for a clean edge.
-Fold before hot gluing to the candle
-Glue the burlap to the candle
- choose a pretty ribbon and glue around its middle or at the top or wherever suits your fancy
I had fun with this simple little project, and I made two different styles.
You could easily make these any time of the year with different colors.
Enjoy this lovely week before Christmas!
