Happy Things on Friday

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
What a full week it has been. We went on a mini one night trip, and it was so much fun. I will share photos of the beautiful place we stayed later this week, and then my sweet in laws are coming to stay for the holiday weekend. It will be packed with fun and food. What are you Labor day weekend plans?

Crafty Goodness ~ I am really enjoying learning new crochet patterns and stiches. These wash clothes are just to pretty to grime up on your counter tops. Wouldn't you agree?
Home~White is a lovely fresh color. I used to hate our apartment that had white walls, but now I have grown a great love for white walls. I wish all of my walls were white, but they are a bright cream and that is pretty close. Also the shelf on the wall of this picture is so sweet.
Lovely Wear ~ Easy and comfortable are my favorite go to outfit, and the polka dot dress and green cardi are perfect in this outfit. I am going to be on the look out for a dress like this so I can copy cat it.
Happy Friday my friends!

Project Life Pages

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
I am still loving my Project life scrap book. I have to admit though that I am surprised that I have kept up with it. In my mind I wanted to keep it up but what I think and reality are sometimes very different. But I have done a two page spread for every week this year, and I am continually proud of myself for keeping it up.

Because I have done so many extra pages and thick embellishments I had to buy an additional album to fit all the pages for this year. I just broke up January through June in one book and July through December in another book.
My birthday was a blast. We had a pool party, and my sweet mother in law made cute cookies and party snacks. Oh and we killed our battery on my actual birthday and waited in the mall parking lot for AAA to come give us a jump start. I love that I have that memory documented.
I am always working on one project or another, and I try to snap a quick picture for my scrapbook.
This date was a blast! I love that I have this page with our mini golf scores and movie tickets.
Moving day for my sister, and a beautiful wedding. That was a full week, but so great.
I made a pocket to put the wedding invitation in my scrapbook for the wedding we attended.
I did two pages for this wedding because I took so many fun pictures that I did not want to leave out. I also got to do a ton of reading and spending time with friends that week.
Getting inspired to document your life? I hope so!

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
Finally I am here with a treasure hunt finds post. It has been ages. I have decided that my new town just does not have the same vintage goodness as my old one. Oh well it makes the thrill of the hunt that much more exciting!

I found this at my least favorite Goodwll in town. Now I have a renewed desire to visit that one. I had to remind myself that you never know what you are going to find so you have to keep going. I just love this Pyrex pitcher, and it is in lovely shape too. Also I do not own this one and I have never seen it before. I got it for the lovely price of $2.99.
I just love that little logo.
The lid is very unusual because it is not a hard plastic but one that is more jelly feeling. Its neat though and I am thankful it still had the lid with it.
Not very exciting but I love plain terra cotta containers. They are not usually expensive at the store, but I got all six of the cute little pots for $2.99. I know I couldn't get that good of a deal at the store so I brought them home. I also liked the unusually small shape of these pots.
What did you find this week? I would love to see your treasures too! You can post your pictures to the Joyful Treasure Hunting facebook page (link on the side bar).
Here are the lovely sites I enjoy linking up with. We get to share more fun that way:

Happy Things on Friday

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
Ready to head into the weekend? I sure am. I finally have a treasure to share on my treasure hunt finds posts! FINALLY! And I am hoping for some more because I am planning on going to a vintage swap meet. Maybe. We will see how adventurous I get on my own. This weekend I am on my own because Mr Joyful Thrifter is working which means my house will get crazy with projects I start and don't finish in the middle of the family room. I don't know what it is about projects but they always end up down stairs even though I have a great craft room up stairs. This weekend will also be filled with running, swimming, and eating the left overs in my fridge because I never cook for myself when he is working. I hope your weekend is filled with some fun times as well.

Crafty Goodness~ I just love this journal covered in magazine pictures. You could also switch it up and use personal pictures. The options are endless too of which shape you can use. I really like the triangle shape, but you could do stars, hearts, stripes. Oh boy now my brain is working.
Imagine a Do Over~ I am almost 4 years happily married, but I still ooohhh and ahhh over wedding stuff when I stumble across it on Pinterest. I am forever a girly girl. If I was to re-do my invites I would do something like these. I love how simple they are but at the same time make a great impact. Plus they could easily be duplicated.
Home~ Big and bold letters are my favorite. They relate a huge message, but are still simple and a great decorating piece. Also check out the little book case with vintage spindle legs added on. That is just way to cute not to remember and try to copy someday!
Lovely Wear~ I am an absolute wimp when it comes to bold lip color and fun silly sun glasses, but this picture got me thinking I should try it out some time and conquer my fear. This look is super fun and has a vintage vibe!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Having Fun with My Hair

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
During summer it is all about up and out of the way when it comes to styling my hair. I still want to look cute, but my hair gets heavy and hot really quick. I came up with this hair style recently and love how easy it is to do plus it looks cute. I have to admit I did this updo on three day old hair. Three day old hair meaning I had not washed it in three days. Now for me to say that is huge. I am a hard core wash my hair every other day kind of girl, so for me to go three days and not have washed it and still have cute hair is huge.

I wish I had taken a good picture of it in the front, but I didn't. It is simply in a twist around the crown of my hair, and then the bun is on the side. I used bobby pins to fasten the bum more closely to my head so it did not look like it was floating on my head.
Since its only friends here lets get personal. What is your hair style routine? Do you wash your hair every day? Can you go a week and still have those beautiful locks of hair? What products do you love?

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
This week I don't have any new treasures to share but rather some old treasures I sold at my very first garage sale.  It was so fun making the signs and setting out all of my stuff to sell. I did not have very much to sell, but it was sure nice to get some stuff out of our garbage, and make a few dollars.
I got to read while I waited for my customers to come to my house!
I sold a bunch of the clothes pictured, and I also sold all of the items with red hearts on them.
What are some of your experiences having a garage sale of your own? Any great stories of strange customers?

Monthly Book Club Read

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
A few weeks ago I had mentioned that I was hosting book club at my house, and one of my sweet readers asked if I would post the title of the book we were going to be reading the following month. I thought that it would be fun to get some of you lovely readers in on my book club fun. I love to read so anyone who would like to join in the fun is more then welcome.

This months read is:
The Keeper of the Bees by Gene Stratton-Porters
Set in the author's adopted home of California in the 1920s, this is Gene Stratton-Porter's last novel, a story filled with wisdom, a love of nature, and her own abiding optimism. In it a Master Bee Keeper, his bees, and the natural beauty of California restore a wounded World War I veteran to health.
(Photo and Book description Via Amazon)
I just received my copy in the mail and I can't wait to dive into it. For those who are interested you can snag a used copy for about $6.00 or $7.00. HAPPY READING!

Happy Things on Friday

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
Another week done my sweet friends, and it is August! Oh my goodness. I am loving that I told Mr Joyful Thrifter this week that we can officially start looking for Christmas gifts. I can't wait for the weather to cool down so I can begin wearing all of my favorite clothes again. It will be great!

Lovely Wear~ This outfit is making me itchy for winter like I was saying above. I can't wait to pull out my sweater that looks like this one and layer it up with scarves and gloves.
Home~ I have three fire places in my house, but none of them look as cute as this one. I want to fill one of them up with books like this one, but it also means we have to stop using it too. I will have to choose one that needs to be more pretty then functional.
Just Cute~ Cream and gold are two of the prettiest and most elegant color combos. My journal that I use daily looks just like this Iphone case, and every time I open it up to write my thoughts I am always so glad to see those gold stripes.
Crafty Goodness~These pillows just say jump into bed with a good book and cuddle! Such cheerful polka dot fabric too.
Happy weekend!

It's a Messy Hair Day

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,
This has been one of those weeks filled with messy hair and comfortable outfits. I am thankful for good friends and time spent sharing and laughing. I did not get a chance to blog this week and that is ok because some weeks are meant to lay back a bit and enjoy the soft breeze and warm days of summer.
P.s Don't forget that Joyful Treasure Hunting is on Facebook too. I have been really enjoying posting pictures of some of the fun stuff I stumble onto at the thrifts. Pop on over and feel free to share some of your crazy finds too!
