Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

We had a lovely thrifty morning. We got to go to one really big barn sale, and then a small vintage sale. most of my treasures were small, but super cute and original.

This lovely vintage bag was $2.00. I just love how little it is. I think it would be so cute on a fancy night out or to a wedding.  The ladies holding this sale are going to bring out more stuff tomorrow, so I might stop by to see what treasures they bring out.

Another clear frog, and I don't have one this size. So of course it came home, and got added to my collection. This lovely was $1.25.

This small book caught my eye very quickly. Its pocket sized and is full of those hard to spell words. Its real leather and made in England. I gladly paid $1.25.

A day planner from 1959. Its all in French, and is such a cute little treasure. Another treasure for $1.25.

Little hand mirror for $1.00.

Two Children's books for $1.00

I have been looking for a scrabble board for ages, and I finally found one today. I found it for $1.00. I really love how creative people get using the tiles or the holders for the tiles. I am going to have them say welcome for right now.

This is my FAVORITE find of the week. A vintage happy birthday banner STILL in the package. I can't wait for Mr Joyful Thrifters birthday so I can hang it up.

And now here is the answer to "Name the price of that treasure"
I had you all guess on this beauty

Drum roll please.....I paid $0.00 for this tea tray. The lady who gave it to us was so shocked we wanted it that she was more then willing to just give it to us. Hope you all enjoyed playing my little game.

I hope you all had a thrifty weekend, and found lots of treasures.

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter

Tea Time

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Ok I must admit that I have been holding out on you all. I got something over the weekend and I did not share it on my treasure hunt post because I wanted to clean it up before posting a picture of this treasure. I also bought something a long while ago and had not gotten an opportunity to photograph it. Don't be mad. To make things better we are going to play "Name the price of that treasure!"

Here is my newest treasure...

An awesome rusty tea cart. I just fell in love with this thing the moment I found it in the back yard of an estate sale

I had a blast putting treasures on this sweet rusty tea cart.

This is the treasure that we are going to play "name the price of that treasure!" How much do you think I paid for this rusty cart??

The second item I have to share with you all is the slotted doors behind the tea cart.

I put some vintage pictures I tore out from a book I bought at barnes and noble. I bought the book for $2.00, and I only bought the book so I could tear it apart for the sweet vintage pictures.

Have a lovley week!

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter

P.s Once everything is put back in order I am going to do a photo shoot of my newly rearranged apartment. My sweet Mr Joyful Thrifter helped me completely change our apartment, and it looks great!

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Mr Joyful Thrifter and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary this weekend...

Marrying your best friend is such a blessing, so to celebrate we decided to spend the weekend in...

This was our first time visiting this lovely Danish city and we had such a lovely time. We went shopping, walks, and my favorite part was picking...

And of course we hit some thrift stores while we were in Solvang.

I found some lovely treasures, and had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary...

From left to right. The lovely pink fridgies I bought from a friend from church. She was kind enough to sell them to me for $10.00. The lovely lid was $1.99. The pink gooseberry was $4.99 and the promotional piece with the swirl was $3.99.

These fun frames were found for $0.12 for the small one, $2.00 for the turquoise one, and $1.00 for the white frame.

Sweet vintage coin purse for $2.50.

Cute vintage clock for $3.00

Vintage hangers for $0.50

Cookie cutters for $0.50 each

Adorable vintage bible story books for $0.05 each. I couldn't believe the price.

Cute napkin holders for $.025

I hope you all had a thrifty weekend, and found lots of treasures.

A lovely Win!

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I won a lovely give away from Trudie at My Vintage Vow, and I had the lovely surprise that she shipped my treasures all the way from...

How generous she was to send this sweet parcel all the way to California. This package came on the best day. I had a good day at work, but I feel like I am getting sick so this package put a smile on my face instantly. I quickly opened up the package and grabbed my new camera and took pictures of this sweet parcel.

In this giveaway were some lovelies from Juky and Beatrix

Here are some close ups of the wonderfully sweet book plates...

Those plates are just about the sweetest things I have ever seen.

I also won the surprise portion of the giveaway, and was given this sweet note pad.

Something that I always treasure is when some one takes the time to write a letter to me, and I was honored to receive a lovely note from Trudie...

What a lovely giveaway. THANK YOU TRUDIE!!

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and friends,

Well I must apologize for my absence. I guess I was just busy or something and I did not get an opportunity to post, but I am back with some lovely little treasures.

I bought this glass christmas tree filled with ornaments for $1.00. It was a small estate sale with great prices.

This is my silly purchase of the week. A glass penguin called a people feeder. Its so cute, and sort of ridiculous. I paid $1.99 for him.

I bought 4 scarves for $1.00. Some of them are all silk, and others are just lovely. The doily was $2.00

Who doesn't like free wrapping paper? NO ONE!

And lastly my most thrifty find! A NEW CAMERA!!! I found an awesome cannon rebel on Craiglist and snapped it up. I paid half the price that the stores are charging. YAY! My new camera helped me take the pictures for todays post and this lovely shot as well.

I can't wait to learn how to use my camera better, and take even better pictures.

Last but not least, I told you all that I would share how much I paid for this beauty...

A lot of people thought I paid $5.00 for it. Drum roll please..........I only paid $3.00 for it. He even marked it down from $4.00 just because he thought I was nice and it was the second time I had visited his thrift shop.

I hope you all had a thrifty weekend, and found lots of treasures.

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter
