Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I feel as though I must use the term "hunt" very loosely this week in my title as most of my treasures this week were gifted to me by my dear friend Kami from The Blue Kazoo. She is moving away *sigh* and since she is moving to a smaller apartment she has sadly realized that she must downsize her treasures. She was kind enough to set aside a pile just for me! I was so honored that she would think of me. I am truly going to miss this dear friend of mine. As a way to celebrate our friendship and one last hoorah before she moves to Oregon we decided to spend the day at the rose bowl flea market.

Here is my sweet friend posing in her vintage dress from Buffalo Exchange.

(image stollen from her blog. She has no rights to this picture since I was the one who took it :-D )

The day was extremely hot so we only took two pictures, but this one is great because it shows off our new bangles. Kami knows an older gentlemen who sells vintage jewelry at the flea market and he was kind enough to give us each a bracelet. He was so cute.

I will miss you sweet friend!

Continuing on to the treasures she generously gave to me.

I have been wanting a vintage globe for quite some time. She asked if I wanted it and I quickly answered YES!

This treasure honored me so much. I have always seen this beautiful frame lovingly displayed in her home, and she told me that she wanted me to have it. I was happy and sad at the same time. I can't wait to display this beautiful frame in my home.

Look at the lovely detail

Super cute yellow bunt pan. I am going to hang this up in my kitchen and pretend that I have matching yellow walls.

Cute painted picture. I love these little framed works of art.

Coca Cola carrier. Again she helped me check off another item on my vintage wish list by gifting this to me.

THANK YOU KAMI!!! For always sharing your treasures with me, for being a lovely friend, and for always including me even when you are far away.

I did find a few treasures other then the beauties above recently, so I will share those too.

A zip lock bag full of stamps for $2.99. I am going to incorporate these cuties into my sending love project. I know I promised not to buy new stuff, but this was a great deal and some cute stamps.

An amazing thing happened. I went to good will and this wonderful crazy daisy cinderella bowl was reasonably priced at $5.99. GASP! I had to buy it just because it was a good price, and because I don't have this bowl.

I fell in love with this painting right when I saw it, and at $1.91 it was a perfect steal.

I do hope you all had a wonderfully thrifty week!

Sending Love - Week #4

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Another week of Love! This week is bright and colorful. I found this colorful paper in the dollar section at Target, and I have made lots of fun projects with it.

The fun paper from target has the cutest banner printed on it. I cut out the cute pattern to make a banner for my card.

I used the matching paper from the pack to add even more color to my card.

This card was made just for you!

Stickles adds the perfect amount of glitter to any project.

I had a lot of fun making this cheerful card.

Have a lovely day!

Well for those of you are in love with this necklace are also aware that it comes with a $150.00 price tag. Well for any reader of my blog knows that $150.00 is almost always going to be out of my budget. I just can't justify that much money for a necklace. So what do thrifty people do when they fall in love with something out of their price range? They visit Ebay!

I found my necklace on Ebay for $14.50. WAHOO! I am still jazzed about it. It was so exciting because today it arrived in the mail!

I can't wait to wear my new necklace. Have you found any new treasures on Ebay recently?

Treasure Hunt Finds and A WINNER!!!

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

New thrift stores are the best! I love going out of town, and seeing what else I can discover. We went to Pamona yesterday to spend the day, and of course we took along our list of thrift stores. Most of them had nothing, but then we ran into a thrift store that was NOT on the list. I felt like I had scored. The store had just opened, and it was huge. I was so excited to get in and see what the aisles were full of.

The first thing I spotted was this cheerful apron. When I saw it priced at $1.99 I knew I had found a really good thrift store. I was so excited to continue looking around.

Next I found these sweet home made fabric napkins. These cuties set me back a whole $0.25. I can't wait to use them.

This little flower glass brought some lovely memories with it. Sweet family members of mine have a cabin in Big Bear, and we would all go up there for holidays or just for fun. One of the best things about the cabin is that it is chalk full of awesome vintage dishes and decorations. All of which are original from when the cabin was built. I just love going there because it feels like you steped back into time. This little glass below matches one that is in the cabin that I just loved using. When I spotted it on the shelf I had a flood of fun memories of breakfast with this little glass filled with orange juice. I was even more excited that the little glass was only $0.25. The funny thing is that the cabin only has one of these glasses too, so we match.

I love scouring the book aisles. Normally when I find old books at thrift stores they are very expensive, but this little book did not have a price so I thought I would bring it to the front and see how much it would set me back. The young girl looked at it and said since it was a small hard backed book she would charge me $0.99. Of course I was more then excited to pay that.

Signed by the author in 1892. I actually started reading this little volume, and it is really funny. I look forward to reading more about this mans Reveries.

I took this picture so you could get an idea of how sweet and little this book is.

Well that concludes my finds from my new favorite thrift store. Today I popped on over to the local swap meet. It was great fun, but boy was it warm out at 102 degrees I was pretty sweaty after my adventure. So worth the it though because I had a great time.

After going through countless aisles I finally spied a booth with vintage treasures, and I got to visit with the booth owner for a little. She acquired all of her vintage stock from a lady she worked for. The older lady wanted to minimize her possessions and told her that she could have it all. She had beautiful linens and fun dishes. It was so great to visit with this lady. She was even kind enough to bring out stock she did not put out because as she put it "I want to show you this as someone who appreciates vintage." I was honored to see her hidden wares.

She sold me this little orang wallet for $1.00. It smells like the owner. I don't know why but I love that vintage smell.

She was kind enough to just give me these vintage salt and pepper shakers. They are so sweet and cheerful. I thanked her profusely for sharing with me. I did buy a few other treasures, but they are gifts so I can't share them on this little blog.

Bought this book for $1.00, and I bought it because it looked like a fun read and the price was right. The gentlemen I bought the book from said that I was buying a welsh book from a welsh man. He shared some other things and it was so nice to visit with such a nice older man.

I love the "From the Library of" sticker from the previous owner.

And now the moment you have been waiting for. THE WINNER OF MY GIVEAWAY!!!

The winner is lucky commenter #4.
