Joyful Creations - Almost No Sew Coin Purse

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Now that I have my craft room in working order I was able to start working on some crafts I have had in mind for quite awhile. Here is an easy craft that you can finish in probably less then 10 minutes. I love those kind!
Supplies Needed:

~Pleather (or leather if you have it)
~Scissors
~Exacto Knife
~Patterned Duct Tape (I found mine at Target in the dollar section)
~Button (not pictured)
~Needle and Thread (also not pictured)
~Start out by cutting your pleather to the size you want
~You can use a hair clip to keep the pleather from moving while you tape the sides.
~Using your patterned duct tape tape down each side so nothing can fall out or get inside. Also if you want to you can cut a fun shape for the flap.
~Cut a slit for the button closure, and then carefully sew on a button of your choice. (see this is all the sewing required for this project. I did promise with the title an "almost" no sew coin purse)
I am using my coin purse to hold little sewing supplies, but you can use yours for coins or whatever you would like.
Happy Crafting!

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

While visiting my in laws I got to go a great Estate Sale. I love saying those magic words "Estate Sales"I have not been to a good Estate sale in some time, but more importantly I have not been to an Estate sale that had reasonable prices in quite some time. It was great fun.

I fell in love with these napkins right away! They are in mint condition. It almost looks like they have never been used. Plus they are a lovely shade of blue and olive green. So pretty. I got all four napkins for $2.00.
I love storing craft supplies in vintage tins. I got both of these for $1.50. Such a great bargin.
I have not bought mugs in quite some time! I am proud of myself, but I just had to bring these cuties home because I just love the flowers and the colors. Plus they were only $0.25/ each.
I love how they stack!
I have rarely found vintage Christmas decorations. These boxes of shiny brites were a lovely surprise! I got all three boxes for $5.00.
I just ove the boxes. When Christmas comes around I won't be using these ornaments on my tree because they look to great in the boxes.
Amazingly enough I don't own a pencil sharpener, so I was thrilled to find this older style one for $2.99. It works great too.
I don't have any Pyrex in this pattern, so I was pleased to find this lid. Plus it was 50% off so I only paid $1.50 for this cutie.
EEEPPP I just think these wedding place cards are just to cute. I have no idea what I am going to do with them, but I just had to bring them home.
I actually paid retail for these place cards. I was smiling to myself when I saw the price on the original packaging was the same I was paying.
Large Sewing hoop, which will be perfect for...something. I got it for $1.99.
Have you found any lovely treasures recently? If so please link up pictures to my Facebook page, or leave your blog link so I can enjoy in your fun.

Smiles,
Here are the lovely sites I enjoy linking up with. We get to share more fun that way:

Left Behind Pyrex at the Thrift Store

Hello Thrifters and Friends,

Yes you read the title correctly, I have been leaving Pyrex behind. Since I have so much a lovely collection of Pyrex I can't bring home every thing I find anymore. Especially if the price is to much. I have a beautiful home to decorate and can't spend my monthly thrifting budget on Pyrex that is over priced.

This pretty was priced at $10.00, and sure it is a promotional piece and not one i have in my collection. However $10.00 does seem a bit pricey to me.
The green fridgie they wanted $6.00 for and the pitcher I can't remember the price. I have so many of those pitchers that I literally can't bring them home any more.
Ok this time I do regret leaving this one behind. It was $8.00, and now I regret not getting it. Plus I saw this exact same dish (I know because it had a sad nick in it) being sold at an antique store for $14.99.
Have you left any Pyrex behind? Or left some behind that you regret?

Target Love

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

My sweet Mr Joyful took me to Target on Valentines Day because he let me choose all of my favorite things to do. I got to browse the aisles at a super slow pace and take in all the spring colors that are coming out right now. It was so fun. Here are the cuties I brought home.
Don't you just love it when you see that lovely "Clearance" tag on a treasure at Target? I love these mint green tights, and I think they will look so cute paired with a pair of flats or my boots. I have a love hate relationship with tights because I love wearing them, but whenever I do I only get about a half of day with them on before I put a rip in them. So sad. I also found these colorful duct tapes in the dollar section, and I already used the chevron pattern tape on a cute craft project I will share soon.

Happy Target Shopping!

Happy Things on Friday

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! Hope you enjoyed your week and you are ready for a much needed weekend

~~Creative Spaces~~ Since I recently got my craft organized I had lots of fun browsing Pinterest for inspiration for craft room organization and decoration. It was great fun. This laundry line concept for hanging cards or pictures is a fabulous idea.
~~Crafty Goodness~~ What a simple way to dress up a simple Tee. I love the contrast of the grey and the floral.
~~Home~~ A pink wall is a big leap for me, but sounds like such a fun concept. I think I could more easily accomplish the wonderful shelving on the wall. I love the bright colors she chose to put on the shelves.
~~Lovely Wear~~ I don't need to say much about this beautiful outfit other then L-O-V-E-L-Y!
~~Etsy Favorite~~ Felt necklaces in soft pastels is a great statement piece. Don't you think?

Having Fun With my Hair

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Still keeping my end of the bargain with myself to attempt new hair styles this year. If you would like directions on how to do this hair style please visit the lovely Erica from Caught on a Whim
I curled my hair before putting it into the pony tail.
I used one of my curls to create a little loop. I thought that made a fun detail.
Here is what I wore to match my hair style.
Happy Hair Doing!

Craft Room Inspiration Wall AKA Old School Pinterest

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I am very blessed to have a huge closet to store all of my craft supplies and have them all hidden. However these doors are not much to speak of. The previous owners painted squares on the doors which is fun, but still not very special. I love collages so I decided this was the perfect home for all of my magazine clippings and fun little treasures I stumble onto. I am also labeling this wall my version of Old School Pinterest. Before Pinterest came out we all clipped magazines printed out inspiration from the internet and made journals full of these beaufiufl photos. Now we have Pinterest and you don't see these beaituful home made inspiration boards as much. Now don't get me wrong I love Pinterest, but I also like seeing it in real life too.
I am working on transforming these doors into closet doors full of lovely pictures.
My favorite blogger Elsie Larsen from A Beautiful Mess had a spread in Mollie makes and I decided to have her colorful wedding inspire me on my closet door.
It makes me smile when I look at all the pretty colors and lovely inspiration on this wall.
Do you have any inspiration walls in your house?

Craft Room Tour

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

After a few months of my craft room looking like this (and this is in better shape because I forgot to take a picture of the big hurricane of a disaster before this was taken) I finally spent time getting it organized and pretty. Welcome to my craft room. Any time you want to come and create come one over.
This book case was left behind by the previous owners of the house, and it looks so cute in my craft room with colorful supplies on it.

A big basket of ribbon. I know its wierd but I like my ribbon stored like this so I can dig through it and find what I am looking for. Plus it is so much fun to see all the colors and shapes.
I love my new space! It is so colorful and full of bits and pieces to create lots of fun treasures.
I hope you enjoyed the tour! I can't wait to show you my inspiration wall.
Smiles,
