Joyful Tablescapes

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I am so sorry I have been MIA lately. I got hit really hard with another sinus infection, and then during that my grandma passed away. All that to be said my poor little blog suffered the consequences of a stuffed nose and a sad heart. I am back now, and I am so glad because I have missed you all so much. In honor of my Grandma I incororporated her picture into my table scape. I thought it would be a good way for me to remember her.

Isn't she an adorable little girl? I just love this picture of my Grandma. She looks so happy!

She lived a good life and passed away at 92 years of age.  This is my Grandma at my wedding, and one of my favorite pictures of her and my Aunt.

Here is my lovely little table until I get inspiration to change it up again

What have you lovelies been up to these past few days?

Joyful Inspiration - Hair Clips

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I love going onto Etsy and just typing in the first pretty thing I can think of, and watch all of these beautiful creations load. It is quite inspiring and relaxing and look at the wonderful creations people make. Today I simply put in a search for hair clips, and these are some of my favorite things I saw.

I rarely leave the house without a bow or flower in my hair. It has become quite my signature piece actually. To the point where people wonder why I don't have one in my hair if I forgot to put a flower in that day. Its a fun thing, and makes my simple straight hair more special.

Have a lovely Thursday. We are almost to the weekend!

A Very Joyful Valentines Day!

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Here is my Valentines Day in retrospect. It was a lovely day, and the evening was spent relaxing with Mr Joyful Thrifter.

My sweet coworkers gave me some yummy treats on this pink and red holiday.
I was very excited when I saw this cupcake doggy at Walmart. I just knew it would be the perfect dessert for Mr Joyful Thrifter and I to enjoy on the day of love. It was so fun to eat off his little face. YUMMY!!!

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday, and made it a fun day!

Joyful Reviews - Homes and Antiques Magazine

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I rushed to the magazine store after work today because I was hoping to snag a copy of Flea Market Style However their shipment of my much anticipated magazine had not arrived yet. I was told I would have to wait at least a week. When you have the idea of curling up on the couch with a magazine full of vintage inspiration it is hard to get that idea out of your head easily, so I splurged and bought a different magazine I had never heard of before. The pictures from Homes and Antiques magazine pulled me in instantly, and I marched myself up to the cash register with this beautiful magazine in hand.

Each page was full of vintage goodness for the eyes to soak in. Yes I was disappointed that my magazine had not arrived yet, but I was more then pleased to find this magazine to curl up with on the couch.

Have any of you heard / enjoyed this magazine? Am I the only one who has not thumbed through this beautiful magazine?

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

What an awesome treasure day! Mr Joyful Thrifter and I were finally able to go to some garage sales, and I am so glad we did. I was worried that a lot of sales would get cancelled because it was so gloomy outside, and it looked like it was going to rain. However we were so pleasantly surprised. Now on to the treasures!

This is one of my favorite finds. I just love how cute and little this table is. I saw it at the sale and I knew I wanted to take it home, so I asked how much. The sale was being held by to many men, and only 2 women. It was so strange. No one could agree on a price one person said $2.00 another said no it should be more. After going back and forth for a bit they finally decided on $1.50. SOLD! I was glad to pay $1.50 for this adorable table.

Three sweet little napkins were $0.50 for all three. I love how cute they are.

I found this whole role of bird stickers for $0.25. I can't wait to seal some hand written cards with these adorable stickers.

Speaking of cards. I was tickled to find these lovely cards for $0.25. I can't wait to send off a note using these cheerful cards.

I saw this soap dish and knew it was wonderful. It is Avon, and I paid $1.00 for it.

Look at its cute little pedestal.

Lovely pink glass from France. I got all six glasses for $1.50. I could not believe she only wanted $1.50. I was so excited.

Ok this was my strangest purchase. Vintage billiard balls, and I only paid $1.00 for them. I am toying with the idea of selling them because I don't exactly know what to do with them. I just figured it would not hurt to spend a dollar on something that might sell well.

I was looking for a soap dispenser for my newly decorated spare bathroom, and I was so pleased to find this unique one for only $1.00. The lever on the dispenser is really neat.

Hope you all had a wonderfully thrifty week!

The Joyful Thrifter

Joyful Decorating - Guest Bathroom

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I have been wanting to pretty up the guest bathroom for ages. I had an ugly clear plastic shower curtain and hardly any decorations in it before, and now it looks so lovely. I sure wish I had remembered to take a before picture but I forgot. I decided on a shower curtain that is very different from my usual style, and I just love it.

Welcome to my newly decorated guest bathroom

Here is my bohemian style shower curtain (or I think it looks bohemian because I could be wrong)

When I found this rug I was so excited because it is not your traditional rectangular rug. It has the sweetest edging.

Its always good to remember to "Be Happy" no matter what room of the house you are in.

Mr Joyful Thrifter bought this adorable hand towel at Kohls for me. I just love it so much.

I put a lot of my owls in the bathroom just for fun.

They made this beautiful "R" for me at work, and I love it so much.

Have you don any re-do's lately in your home?

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter
