A Pyrex Meal

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

We had a lovely family dinner today and used a ton of Pyrex with wonderful food.

I love my cheerful glasses, but they are not Pyrex.

Have a lovely weekend!

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

It was such a fun garage sale day. Mr Joyful thrifter and I found an awesome block sale, and we got to walk from garage sale to garage sale finding great deals.

I found this sweet hand quilted table runner for only $1.00

Here is what $5.00 can buy you...Yes I did say $5.00 because Mr Joyful Thrifter is great at making deals.

I found this sweet little copy of Little Women last week at a Sunday moving sale for $1.00.

Yellow Suit Case for $1.00. The sweet lady I bought it from told me she took it on her honeymoon 38 years ago. Like I have said many times before I love treasures with history.

I traded my mom one of my lemon Pyrex pitchers for this awesome suit case. It is so cool. It has a mirror and a little drawer on the inside. I am really enjoying my suit case collection. Its fun to see them all stacked up.

And finally my wonderfully sweet Mr Joyful Thrifter gave me these beauties this week just because.  He put them in my Pyrex vase. They look so lovely...

A Lovely Trade

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I had such a wonderful time trading with Michelle from My Reflections. See this post for the details of our trade. Michelle broke the rules and sent me the most amazing box of treasures my eyes could behold. I honestly thought after I opened the box I should send it back because I didn't deserve it. However Michelle put so much love and care into my box that I wouldn't dare do that, and I love everything in it. Here are the wonderful treasures she was so generous to give to me...

My excitement is building as I see treasures inside of this box waiting to be opened.

Here are my wonderful new treasures...

This chicken is an avon bottle! I was so jazzed to see this little guy when I unwrapped him.

Sweet cookie cutters, and a cheerful yellow bowl.

I can't believe she gave me this amazing Pyrex. I just love each piece so much.

We already put the Pyrex to good use

Sweet vintage apron. I love the heart pocket sewn onto it.

Perfectly lovely avon pin.

Trading was so much fun because it was a complete mystery, and that made it so much fun. I hope that Michelle enjoyed my treasure box.

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Words can't describe the vintage awesomeness that was found today at the yard sales and thrift stores. Mr Joyful Thrifter and I had such a great time finding great deals, and hanging out. We drove all around town going to every garage sale we saw a sign for. Here are the great treasures that were found today...

Clear Insulator was a steal for only $0.50
Paris sign was $1.00
Milk glass alt and pepper shakers $1.00

The lady that I bought the sign and S&P shakers from was so sweet and gave me a really good deal on some books because she said I was so nice.

Both books were only $0.50 each. Resurrection is copy right 1886. I just love decorating with old books because they look great on a table or stacked up.

Owl avon bottle for only $0.25. This estate sale was so great. Its what us vintage bargain seekers dream of. I found some wonderful things all at fabulous prices.

Another avon bottle for $0.25. I just fell in love with this one because its so cute, festive, and it came in its original box.

A mix of buttons, patches, and safety pins for $0.25

YAY PYREX! The bowl was only $1.00 and the pitcher was $3.49. The lady I bought the bowl from was so confused why I wanted to buy the bowl. Didn't bother me any because I was excited to find a Pyrex bowl for $1.00.

Cast Iron Frying pan for only $1.00. I can't wait to make hash browns on this guy. I am not a huge breakfast fan, but I love sausage and hash browns. Super healthy ha?

Vintage photos $0.25 each. I loved the poses. I am not sure what I am going to do with these, but when I see them at antique stores they are sometimes $5.00-$10.00 each.

All of these blocks for only $3.00. I have some great projects in mind for these cute blocks.

Sweet cross stiched runner for $0.25. I love wondering who owned the treasure before. Do you think they received it as a wedding present? Or maybe it was just for fun to work on during the evenings? Who knows, but I love thinking about it.

I got four of these place matts for $1.00. The tag says they were made in the Phillipines. I might turn these into some lovely art for our kitchen walls.

I already have some of these cheerful polka dot glasses, and I added these new colors for $0.60 each.

These books were only $2.00.

Very Small tin for $0.25 and a green tonka truck for $0.25

DRUM ROLE PLEASE!! Here is our best find...

We found this wonderful couch at the Salvation army for $75.00. We just love it, and Mr Joyful thrifter is so glad to have a couch that he fits on.

Ready Set TRADE!

Hello fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I am so excited to be sending off a package filled with treasures to Michelle from My Reflections.  Michelle and I decided that it would be so much fun to do a trade just for the heck of it. The only rules we put on the trade was that whatever we decided to trade had to fit inside of a tissue box and that we would send out our packages on the same day.

This is my first trade, and I am so excited.

Have you ever done a trade before?

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow thrifters and Friends,

Today was one lovely day of thrifting. I got to spend the day with my mom and a wonderful friend thrifting! It was such a great time. I love seeing the treasures that other people pick up. Its so fun to see peoples eyes light up at something you didn't even notice.

Here are the treasures that I was able to discover today...

I decided to put my favorite find first today because I was to excited to wait. I was so jazzed to find this Pyrex pitcher. I have never seen it before. When my mom saw it she was so excited and was a little jelous too because we collect Pyrex together. As we were looking around there was another one exactly the same sitting on different shelf! Can you believe that! What are the odds? The only downside was the pitcher I found was $2.57 and my moms was $4.57. We couldn't convince the checker to change the price, but it was a good try.

This cheerful pie plate was found by my dear friend and was only $1.25

Lovely green plate for $1.99. I just fell in love with it, and wanted to take it home.

Fire king bowl for $0.75.

YAY! A lid for my lidless fridgie. I was hopping with joy when I found this lid for $1.57.

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fello Thrifters and Friends,

It was a quiet thrifty week, which was really nice. Mr Joyful Thrifter and I got to visit a few garage sales today that offered some lovely little treasures. It was such a fun Saturday morning because the weather was great and there were garage sales every where.

A lovely tea pot for one. I have wanted a mini one for awhile, and I found this one today and thought it was so great. I got this cutie for $1.50

Wonderful metal bird that was made in India, and it holds a tea light. I found this little guy for $1.00.

I asked the lady how much she wanted for a small bag of buttons and she told me I could have them for free as long as I promised to buy something else. I bought the book below, which is chalk full of decorating ideas for $1.00 so I got the buttons for FREE!

I also found another suit case at a different garage sale...

The lady I bout it from was honestly surprised I was interested in it, and she told me to make her an offer. I asked Mr Joyful Thrifter what would be a good price and he offered them $3.00. They gladly accepted it!

Check out the inside...

It came with two of the original hangers. I was so excited to see those hangers. I am trying to decide what I am going to do with them.
