We had a lovely thrifty morning. We got to go to one really big barn sale, and then a small vintage sale. most of my treasures were small, but super cute and original.
This lovely vintage bag was $2.00. I just love how little it is. I think it would be so cute on a fancy night out or to a wedding. The ladies holding this sale are going to bring out more stuff tomorrow, so I might stop by to see what treasures they bring out.
Another clear frog, and I don't have one this size. So of course it came home, and got added to my collection. This lovely was $1.25.
This small book caught my eye very quickly. Its pocket sized and is full of those hard to spell words. Its real leather and made in England. I gladly paid $1.25.
A day planner from 1959. Its all in French, and is such a cute little treasure. Another treasure for $1.25.
Little hand mirror for $1.00.
Two Children's books for $1.00
I have been looking for a scrabble board for ages, and I finally found one today. I found it for $1.00. I really love how creative people get using the tiles or the holders for the tiles. I am going to have them say welcome for right now.
This is my FAVORITE find of the week. A vintage happy birthday banner STILL in the package. I can't wait for Mr Joyful Thrifters birthday so I can hang it up.
And now here is the answer to "Name the price of that treasure"
I had you all guess on this beauty
Drum roll please.....I paid $0.00 for this tea tray. The lady who gave it to us was so shocked we wanted it that she was more then willing to just give it to us. Hope you all enjoyed playing my little game.
I hope you all had a thrifty weekend, and found lots of treasures.
Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter
Here are the lovely sites I enjoy linking up with. We get to share more fun that way
Lovely finds, I still have yet to come across a barn sale-- we don't have any in Chicago and people tend to do auctions back in my hometown of Arkansas.

ReplyDeleteThe little bag is gorgeous! Do you collect frogs for vases or just because you like them? Sherry :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely little evening bag. I love dainty, vintage bags but I can never fit enough of what I need in there. I'd have to carry two, lol.

ReplyDeletewhat a wonderfully free treasure - that happened to my friend the other week at our local junk shop. He asked how much a creepy doll was and the shop owner forced it on him and told him to take it - she said it creeped her out way too much! ha ha.

ReplyDeleteI wish I had been around to play! I know I could have guessed the tea tray, as I have one very similar!
ReplyDeleteI also found a scrabble game yesterday at a busy thrift. You are right- so many people want the tiles that the games get harder to find.
It was taped shut so I have to count how many tiles I actually received, today.
You scored some great items at great prices!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shopper !!! Great buys on everything, and such great vintage too. Tea trolley was a neat surprise.
