Joyful Spaces

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Welcome to a new chapter of Joyful Treasure Hunting called "Joyful Spaces" I am going feature homes that I love and visit. There are some homes that you just love to visit, and I want to share those lovely spaces with you all. The first home I am featuring is very close to my heart because I grew up in this lovely home. I am featuring the home of my mom.

Come and join me on a tour of this lovely home

This is a lovely nook in my moms house. My parents have gone to garage sales and thrift stores since when they were first married. They taught me about bargaining and finding wonderful treasures. Most of moms house is decorated with thrifted treasures.

She paid $25.00 for this lovely yellow striped chair and $15.00 for the dresser.

I just love this cross stich. It has been hung up in my moms house for as long as I can remember. It is so special.

Here is one of my mothers many beautiful hutches filled with vintage goodness. This hutch is my favorite because it is filled with Pyrex and Fiesta Ware.

She has found all of these dishes at thrift stores, garage sales, or via craigslist.

I learned about delicate details from my mom, which is why my house has a lot of the same details.

Joyful Inspiration

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I have so many ideas swimming around in my mind of things I want to share with all of my blog friends that I decided to add some new chapters to my blog. This is my first addition, "Joyful Inspiration." I see so many lovely things on my journeys through blogs and websites that I thought it would be fun to share what inspires me and what makes my style.

I love homes that have special "Just for you" spots a "nook." Nooks feel so cozy and welcoming. I found this lovely nook today and wanted to share...

This nook has so many wonderful things. It has lovely cheerful dishes, a perfect place to read a book, and a place to write your thoughts. Its so lovely.

Another Lovely Win

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I have been honored by another giveaway win. This wonderful giveaway came in the form of a green clutch from Spunky Chateau I was so surprised to win, but super jazzed at the same time.

Like always I love seeing a box waiting for me with my name on it. Its so fun getting mail, but getting a package is doubly special.

Yay! I also got Skittles. YUM!

The Joyful Thrifter goes to work and other adventures

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I decorated my little office space for fall and I thought it came out so cute that I wanted to share it with you all..

My super kind boss surprised all of us girls in the office by picking out these cute little halloween figurines. Each one was different and had a cute outift. Mine has the funniest expression, and I love her little outfit.

I love my cute glass pumpkins that I picked up at The Dollar Tree. (please note the Pyrex in the corner with Lolly pops inside of it. I couldn't have an office without Pyrex in it)

This is where I spend 40 hours of my week, and I love that it is such a cheerful place. I can't wait to decorate my office for Christmas. I plan on putting a christmas tree up just for fun.

When I got home after work today had this package waiting for me. I got to trade a piece of my Pyrex for this lovely one that I have wanted for a really long time.

Isn't it so beautiful.

Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

It has been a full but fun week here at the Joyful Thrifters home. Here is what we are working on right now...

YEP!!! We are finally moving to a new apartment! We are so excited for a change and a bigger apartment. It will be a great thing. Plus this apartment has a small den, which Mr Joyful Thrifter said could be my new craft room! I am so excited! The thing I don't like about moving is my newly purchased treasures are going straight into a box for moving. So sad. However its for a good cause. Speaking of treasures, here are the lovely treasures I found today.

Today was an awesome garage sale day! Two separate neighborhood sales offered probably 50 garage sales to go to, and tons of fun!

A sweet yellow vase. I feel like its a particular brand, but I just can't seem to place it. I picked it up for $1.00. The sale where the little "R" was purchased was full of great goodies, but none I was interested in. However I found this small "R" and when I asked how much it was they giggled and said $0.25. SOLD! I love its little size.

Cigar box for $1.00. These are great for storage.

Two super fun games for $1.00 each. Its funny I never really enjoyed games, but then Mr Joyful Thrifter and I got married and I totally got into playing games. Its so funny. These two games are so much fun.

I have not found a lot of Pyrex lately, so I was jazzed to find this little fridgie at goodwill for only $1.99

Green wire basket for $1.99. Something funny about Mr Joyful Thrifter is that he hates HATES wicker, so when I see a basket that is NOT wicker I have to buy it.

The following items were purchased at one of the best garage sales I have been to in quite some time. The couple holding the sale were the sweetest people ever. She even welcomed me into her home to show me her collection of Pyrex.

She was so sweet she kept adding stuff to my pile. She sold me the following items for $5.00

These mason jars are crown mason jars from Cananda. They have the sweetest crown on the front.

I can't wait to use these light bulbs at christmas time.
