It was such a lovely Thanksgiving weekend, and still continues as I still have one full day off before returning to work. I got to go to the thrifty stores with my Mother in law and that was such a fun time. We went the day after thanksgiving and got some splendid deals.
Salvation army was 50% off everything, which as you all know is my favorite. Who doesn't like cheap on top of cheap? Anyways I finally found another Pyrex pitcher, but this one has the orange and yellow lemon slices on it. It is so cute. I paid $1.77 for this beauty! Can you believe that?
(this is also a sneak peak of my christmas table scape)
This super cute Christmas moose was FREE at goodwill because I found him amongst the 200 free items marked in the store during the Black Friday sale.
I paid $1.77 for these woodsie reindeer friends. I think they are so cute, and they look hand made.
Snow man with skinny legs, now doesn't that just put a smile on your face? Of course again I only paid $1.77. Salvation army has such such strange pricing, but oh well.
This owl was marked $2.35 and the cashier said that was way to much, so she lowered it to a mystery price and I still don't know how much I paid for him. It's ok though because I know it was cheap. He is so cute and little. I am not sure what to put inside his wood stump. Its not quite big enough for a candle, but I don't know what else could go inside either.
Very sweet pillow case in perfect condition for $0.50. It looks hand made, but I can't tell. I plan on using this in our spare bedroom whenever we acquire a bed.
A pretty banged up copy of Christy copyright 1967. I just love that book, and thought it would be fun to have an older copy of it, and at a $1.00 it was totally a fun buy.
This is my favorite find of the weekend. I am not sure what to call this, but I knew it was cool when I saw it for sale at a Porch sale. Yes I did just say a porch sale. The lady was just sitting on her porch going through a box of cards and selling her stuff on her porch. I asked her how much she wanted for the "shelf", and she looked at it for a minute and finally said "how about $3.00?" SOLD!
I think it is so cute! Not sure what to do with it yet, but again SO CUTE!
Hope you all had a wonderfully thrifty week!
Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter
Here are the lovely sites I enjoy linking up with. We get to share more fun that way:

Cute pitcher and I LOVE those reindeer! :D
ReplyDeleteI think the screened thing is to hold onions and potatoes. The owl thing may be for toothpicks. I love reading your blog! Thanks for keeping up with it.
ReplyDeleteYour thrift stores do have strange pricing, but at least it is cheap.
ReplyDeleteI love that storage bin. I think it would look awesome with some black glazing. You could store towels and toilet paper in the bathroom with it.
Oh and I have never seen a porch sale. Sounds like it worked.

oh wow, that shelf is cute! hard to know what to put into it, but i'm sure you'll find a use for it :)
ReplyDeleteI can tell you have had heaps of fun hunting up these treasures! I think you could use Mr Owl to hold toothpicks - I have a squirrel of the same ilk and he sits on a shelf with toothpicks at the ready - for all those fiddly jobs - mixing epoxy, spreading glue, soldering etc etc ....
ReplyDeleteThe owl is adorable. It is probably for toothpicks but you could also fill the cup with felting and use it for a pin cushion. Vintage hatpins could be displayed! I love the list of bloggers, so will visit all. Following you now :)
ReplyDeleteOh my!! $3.00 for that amazing shelf/storage unit!? What a total bargain!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the slightly grumpy looking owl too!

Intriguing sneak peek of your tablescape.
ReplyDeleteI know, our Sal Army prices are odd as well, and sadly nothing is less than 75 cents. At GW nothing is lower than 49 cents. I fondly remember the old days of at least quarter items.
You have a good eye and a talent for putting things together well.
I agree with Jeanne about toothpicks. She has other great ideas too.
Wow you did get some great deals! I love the little owl and agree he is for toothpicks. The shelf bin thingy is an amazing find. I'm so ready to get Christmas decorations out. hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI love the storage shelf! At 3.oo it was a bargain!
ReplyDeleteThe shelf is so different! I wonder if it would sit flat on it's side, with the doors opening outward? You might get better use of the space that way. Fun picks from the Salvation Army, too!
ReplyDeleteI have the same Pyrex pitcher! Maybe the owl thing is for toothpicks? I could have kicked myself for passing two Pyrex mixing bowls at the Goodwill on friday, when I came back around the corner someone had snatched them! Can't win them all!
ReplyDeleteSome great finds! $3 for the shelf is an amazing price.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty pillow case and what a great find in that shelf. x
ReplyDeleteThat shelf is great!! I am a new follower.
ReplyDeleteI love your sweet reindeer! And that Christy book is a real treasure! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love all your lovely bargains. The last item is a steal too. Treasures every one. Smile. The sneak peek of your tablescape is pretty and fun. The owl is a toothpick holder and very cute.
ReplyDeleteBtw, my name is Jeanne too.
XO
Oh, great finds! I had one of those juice pitchers when I was first married. Seeing yours, I wish I still had it :)
ReplyDeleteNice stopping by to visit with you!
Kindly, Lorraine

My fave find this week is the shelf! I always love seeing what ya got. Thanx for being a loyal party goer!
ReplyDeleteYou did very well on Black Friday. That is one day I stay home.
ReplyDeleteThat pillow case is fabulous! The owl is so fun, too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I think that the shelf was for storing vegetables like onions and potatoes. Nice find!
ReplyDeleteA porch sale LOL. I can always put a nice shelf like that to good use :)
ReplyDeleteCould the owl be a toothpick holder?
ReplyDeleteI love the citrus pitcher. Someone had the same thing...or something similar...when I was little. Now I'm going to make myself nuts trying to remember who and where.
You found some fun and wonderful thrifty treasures! Thank you for joining TTF and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHello Joyful ! Just came across your blog and will become a follower. LOVE thrifting !! I also think the owl container would be good for toothpicks. The porch sale shelf looks like something that was used for potatoes, onions and the like. Great eye !
