I love sending and receiving cards, but I have not been as faithful in writing cards as I once was. I was thinking last night (while I couldn't sleep) how fun it would be to challenge myself to make a card a week. Then make sure that I send it out to someone who needs some encouragement or just a note to say hello. Cards are beautiful works of art, and who doesn't love to receive a card in the mail.
Here are some guidelines I have decided to create for myself:
- I only have to create one card a week. I felt like that was easily done, and not to stressful.
- I can only use supplies I have on hand. No over doing it at the craft store. I have plenty of supplies to make hundreds of beautiful cards.
- I must send it to a different person every week
- Try to make each card a simple tutorial so you can join in the fun too.
I hope you enjoy my journey of "Sending Love"
Here is my first "Sending Love Card"
I got inspired to use my colorful tooth picks about a week ago, but until last night I was not sure what I was going to do with them.
I played around with the tooth picks for awhile attempting to find that "perfect" shape.
This was only my second time using Mod Podge, and I was pleasantly surprised again how awesome it is.
Once I had my design I began applying the Mod Podge.
I also used a spray adhesive so I could sprinkle on some clear glitter.
I decided this card would be a "hello" card, so I got out my cute alphabet set to stamp right onto my card. I bought this alphabet set awhile back at Target in their dollar section.
I lined the inside of the card with orange paper for a pop of color for when you open the card.
I very pleased with how this card came out, and I can't wait to see what other creations come from starting this challenge.
I would love to have any of you join me in my challenge. If you decide to take on this challenge with me you can upload pictures of your cards to the new Joyful Treasure Hunting Facebook page. I would so enjoy seeing your creations.
