Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I have been counting down until the new Goodwill opens, which just so happens to be in walking distance from my house. What great luck!!! It opened yesterday, but because I had to work I was not able to go until today. My sweet husband went to the opening, and he said that almost 200 people were waiting in line.

It was so fun to walk into a brand new good will and see it all fresh and clean.

I found a few cute tops and a book, but not very many vintage treasures. I will of course continue to visit to find those wonderful treasures. Now onto the treasures I did find this week.

At the swap meet I found this chest of drawers full of craft supplies. I asked the seller how much he wanted thinking it would be to much money, and he surprised me by saying $5.00

It is full of craft supplies

He also sold me this wooden spool for $1.00

At a moving sale I found this awesome black and silver Pyrex lid. I have never seen this pattern before, which makes me think it is a promotional piece. When I asked her how much she wanted for the lid and the cradle she said $0.25. What an amazing price.

The cradle fits a few of my other dishes, and I was excited because it is my first cradle.

This is my favorite find of the week.  I always tell Mr Joyful Thrifter that I love him this much with my arms spread out, so when I found this wonderful little girl I had to get her. I just think she is the cutest thing. I paid $1.00 for her, and I would have paid more if I had to because I just love this little one.

Hope you all had a wonderfully thrifty week!

Here are the lovely sites I enjoy linking up with. We get to share more fun that way:

  1. I am so envious of you for getting that chest and all the supplies. What a great buy! It's funny how Goodwill stores differ from state to state. When hubby and I went to Myrtle Beach this fall, we noticed that the SC Goodwill stores do more "staging" of clothes, but the prices on clothes are higher. On our recent trip to New Orleans, we couldn't find any Goodwills. I'll be looking forward to your future good buys.

  2. SCORE on the drawers and craft supplies! Love the pyrex lid....great finds!

  3. That close to home ... oh they will know you now on a first name basis, LOL. I have to go 10 miles to visit the 4 thrift stores within a block of each other. Great finds, can't wait to see what else you find.

  4. I too am loving our new Goodwill, yes not a whole lot of Vintage but do at times find a treasure... keep stoping in and you will be surprised one of these days! Diane

  5. Love the craft cupboard - what a find!

  8. Wow! What awesome finds! I hope you score some great items at that new Goodwill! I'm in love with shopping those stores, and it's always so fun to share what goodies can be found there. Thank you so much for coming over to my Party! It's wonderful to have you here!
    Blessings, Doni
