Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

I have been counting down until the new Goodwill opens, which just so happens to be in walking distance from my house. What great luck!!! It opened yesterday, but because I had to work I was not able to go until today. My sweet husband went to the opening, and he said that almost 200 people were waiting in line.

It was so fun to walk into a brand new good will and see it all fresh and clean.

I found a few cute tops and a book, but not very many vintage treasures. I will of course continue to visit to find those wonderful treasures. Now onto the treasures I did find this week.

At the swap meet I found this chest of drawers full of craft supplies. I asked the seller how much he wanted thinking it would be to much money, and he surprised me by saying $5.00

It is full of craft supplies

He also sold me this wooden spool for $1.00

At a moving sale I found this awesome black and silver Pyrex lid. I have never seen this pattern before, which makes me think it is a promotional piece. When I asked her how much she wanted for the lid and the cradle she said $0.25. What an amazing price.

The cradle fits a few of my other dishes, and I was excited because it is my first cradle.

This is my favorite find of the week.  I always tell Mr Joyful Thrifter that I love him this much with my arms spread out, so when I found this wonderful little girl I had to get her. I just think she is the cutest thing. I paid $1.00 for her, and I would have paid more if I had to because I just love this little one.

Hope you all had a wonderfully thrifty week!

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter

Here are the lovely sites I enjoy linking up with. We get to share more fun that way:

  1. I am so envious of you for getting that chest and all the supplies. What a great buy! It's funny how Goodwill stores differ from state to state. When hubby and I went to Myrtle Beach this fall, we noticed that the SC Goodwill stores do more "staging" of clothes, but the prices on clothes are higher. On our recent trip to New Orleans, we couldn't find any Goodwills. I'll be looking forward to your future good buys.

  12. Oh wow, I'd be in trouble if a goodwill store opened within walking distance of me. lol! What a bargain price on the spool. I have one just like it. The little girl figurine made me smile. I remember giving my hubby one so similar years ago. Wonder what i ever did with it? Probably gave it to goodwill. lol! Visiting from Knick of Time. Now a new follower.
