Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Today was such a perfect day. I got to go thrift shopping with my mom! That is a rare treat, and we made the most of it.  We went to her an city near her house that I don't get to very often to get some new treasures. We went to two goodwills, a salvation army, and the assistance league thrift store. It was great fun, and I came away with some lovely treasures.

This beautiful handmade tea towell. It was made with perfect precision, and made me sad that whoever made it gave it away. Anyways I only paid $0.50 for it, and I thought that was an absolute steal!

A little pot holder. I mainly bought this little guy because I want to learn how to make them someday, and I wanted the inspiration handy. I paid $0.25 for it, and I will put it to proper use.

A theme arose when I found this pink doily at the same store that the above were purchased. I loved the flowers and details on this doily. I paid $0.75 for this sweet gem.

I have a project in mind for these hoops, and I got them each for $1.57. I can't wait to post about what i plan on doing with them.

Finally, this is my favorite find of the day. The Pyrex cookie jar. I already have one that was gifted to me by my mom, but I could not pass up finding this one at Salvation army for $4.57. I think this one will live in my craft room filled with ribbon or thread.

Hope you all had a wonderfully thrifty week!

Smiles,
The Joyful Thrifter

  5. Awww, my Mom always kept Little Debbie cakes in that cookie jar. I think it's still at their house. I need to make sure my Dad hasn't gotten rid of it. Thanks for the memories.

  6. I love cookie jars! I have around 60. They are packed in the attic now, but when we first married I had a huge display of them. Then the boys came along and space became more important than collections. I still pick them up at thrifts once in a while though. Nice post, thanks for sharing.

  8. We had that exact Cookie Jar when I was a kid - long gone now. I will have to keep my eye out for one. Great finds!

  11. Way late to the party (just now looking through last Monday's thrift shares), but my jaw dropped when I saw your cookie jar. I just passed up a matching "Cracker Barrel" today. It had instructions on one side to take the lid off and put the whole thing in the oven if your crackers go stale. Hee!
