Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

IT'S HERE!! IT'S HERE!!!! Wondering what is here, based on the great weather or if you follow Joyful Treasure Hunting on Facebook, GARAGE SALE SEASON!!! It has arrived and I am one happy camper. I am so fun to see garage sale signs on every street I drove by today. Here are the lovelies that I found at the thriftys, garage sales, and a great Estate Sale.

Christmas decorations are something I am always looking out for because if you wait till December you always over pay for the same stuff. I think this sleigh will be such a cute decoration in our house this Christmas. It is rusty and falling apart, but that is part of its charm. Mr Joyful Thrifter and I agreed that $5.00 was the most we wanted to pay when we asked how much he wanted, and you know what price he told us? YEP THATS RIGHT $5.00!
I have had my eye out for a bench for quite some time. When I pulled up to a great vintage Estate sale I was greeted with this beauty. I was thinking it would be out of my cash on hand budget, but I asked any way. She said she had an original price tag of $20.00 on it, but since she wants to get rid of stuff and I can have it for $10.00. I was so pleased because I had $18.00 on me. Plus I bought a handful of small items pictured below.
Another awesome find from the Estate sale. This might be one of my favorites because I have wanted a small metal side table for awhile. I have passed up several other ones because they were a bit pricey. I got this one for $1.00 and that was the perfect price for me.
Two stormy blue Pyrex mugs for $1.62 at Salvation army. These are from the diner collection, and I just could not pass up the pretty color.
You might have noticed I am starting a milk glass collection to display in my spare bedroom. The creamy white and the concrete gray color on the walls looks LOVELY together. I got all of these for $3.00. The two tall vases came from a thrift store and the smaller one came from the Estate sale.
This awesome mug has been on my vintage wish list ever since I saw one posted on someone else's blog. I knew I would find one someday I just didn't think it would be quite this soon. It was such a fun surprise and a great price of $1.99.
This little mug has quite the sense of humor.
I just love this size of Pyrex. I have planted plants in it, used it to store jewlery, kept my extra gum packets in it, and all sorts of other strange things. It is a great size. I paid $3.99 for it.
Some more Estate sale fun. I got both of these turquoise cuties for $0.50 each.
My first piece of vintage tupperware, and it too came from the Estate sale. OH HAPPY DAY! I got this orange beauty for $1.00.
Estate sale children's books for $1.00.
Have you ever picked up something and asked the price and the seller seems surprised you are even interested in that item? Well that happened with this little shelf, and she couldn't come up with anything so she said how about $1.00. PERFECT!
Are you ready to see my newest piece of furniture? Ok good because I so excited to show you. On a fun visit to a local park we discovered a very small vintage store that was open. Of course we popped in. The first thing I notice is this great cabinit. Just the size I wanted for my living room, and I could easily invision vintage treasures being displayed in the little cubbies. I asked how much they wanted, and after a quick consultation they said $15.00. I was honestly surprised they priced it so low, and also jumping with joy on the inside to be bringing this great shelf home. Here is my shelf before I added all of my vintage goodness.
Here is a shot from of my living room. I am loving how this room is turning out. I am going for a mid century vibe, and I think it is really looking good.
What did you find this week? I would love to see your treasures too! Feel free to link up below. Or you can post your pictures to the Joyful Treasure Hunting facebook page (link on the side bar).

  4. I've gathered a couple of wall shelves like the white one you found here. A bit of colorful spray paint and they're up on the wall in my daughters' room displaying all her mini plastic bits and bobs!

Laughing at the (half) coffee mug!
