I had the best birthday this past weekend. Mr Joyful Thrifter planned a wonderful party for me, and then on my actual birthday took me shopping. It was a blast. Some of my siblings chipped in and bought me this amazing turquoise blue record player. I was so excited about it. I have been wanting a record player for awhile now, and who wouldn't want a pretty blue one?
My small record collection fits perfectly inside this old suit case. By far my favorite record is this Bing Crosby one that I found at the Salvation Army. I can't wait for Christmas so I can actually listen to my Bing Crosby records this year. Our faces lighted up when we were listening to my record player for the first time. You would have thought it was a new invention instead of one that has been around for so long. I love finding joy in old things (even if mine happens to be brand new)
Pin It Now!
You're "living my dream" with that sweet, old record player! I've been wanting one (at an extremely low price, of course) for a long, long time.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing better than spinning some old records!! Love your record player, I have a red one.
ReplyDeleteI love mine! It was with a touch of nostalgia that I recognized the label for Capital Records. I've spent many hours as a teenager watching that label spin!
ReplyDeleteI love your record player, so cute. I found my favorite Mitch Miller Christmas and play it on mine, so fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday! I have a faux vintage all-in-one record player/MP3 dock/CD player. It's awesome. But I'd love to sit and listen to my records out on the back patio. I'm looking for a nice portable unit. This turquoise Crosley looks like the one for me. Love it!
