Treasure Hunt Finds

Hello Fellow Thrifters and Friends,

Another awesome thrifting and garage sale week for me. I found so many treasures I was beginning to feel guilty. I am going to start my post with my FAVORITE find of the week.

I would like to introduce you to the new member of our family. I am pleased to introduce Beatrix the sewing mannequin. I have wanted a mannequin for ages, and when we pulled up to a random garage sale on Saturday I surprised to see this beauty waiting for me there. I asked the lady how much she wanted and she said $50.00. Not a bad price at all, but also not something I needed to spend $50.00 on. I asked Mr Joyful Thrifter if I could offer her $30.00 and he said all you can do is try. I offered and she turned me down. I told her that was all I wanted to pay and I started walking away. The other lady running the sale asked how much I offered and told me she would sell it to me for $30.00.  I was so excited!!! Mr Joyful Thrifter however just rolled his eyes. I think he was glad inside that they did not accept my offer.  I just love her so much.
Look at her sweet pedestal with a heart shaped button.
Now onto the treasures I found earlier in the week. I was able to go to a local swap meet and found these sweet treasures. I just loved this little Raggedy Anne doll, and she was only $2.00 so I decided to give her a new home.
I know this stool looks a little worse for wear, but it needed a new home. I asked the seller how much he wanted for it, and in my head I was thinking that I won't pay over $5.00 for it, he said he would take $3.00. Sold!
She is now all decorated and looking cute in my family room.
I visited one of the very small thrift stores in the area, and spotted this unusual piece. I actually would like the help of my vintage friends to tell me what this is. It has the appearance of a brooch, but snaps together like a money clip. The maker of this beauty is Belair, and I can't seem to find out much about this clip. Any help would be fantastic! You lovelies always help salve my vintage questions. Oh! I paid $3.00 for it, and I normally would not have bought it but the mystery is what sold me on it.
Now onto my Salvation Army Finds. So many lovely finds!! It is hard to tell in this picture but this is a glass milk carton. I so want to have a friend over for tea and serve our cream in this cutie. The magic price was $2.50.
I always can use these large Pyrex mixing bowls around the house for storage. Plus its Pyrex and I have a hard time passing it up if it is reasonably priced. $3.50 is a reasonable price for this pretty bowl.

A Pyrex plate for $1.19
Oh how I love a snowflake Pyrex dish for $3.99 at Goodwill of all places. I was surprised to see it priced so low.
Garage Sale finds. Mr Joyful Thrifter spotted this adorable sign. I just had to take it home. A picture of a vintage Thrift store. That is a must have in my home, and it only cost me $2.00. The frame was lacking a little something, so we quickly spruced it up when we got home with some spray paint.
Now the frame and the picture are perfect for hanging somewhere in my house.
My last find is just oh so cute. A charlie Brown Christmas tree. I have always wanted one of these, but they can be a little pricey. I got mine for $2.00, and I can't wait to display it this Christmas.
Have you found any lovely treasures recently? If so please link up pictures to my Facebook page, or leave your blog link so I can enjoy in your fun.

  6. Yea, I think the BF gets happy when my offers aren't accepted, I don't win stuff on eBay & they don't have that much when I go thrifting. He can get ticked off. I'm going to dub him Sir Miffed-A-Lot.

I like the creamer, I have never seen a clear one before. & of course, I love the snowflake Pyrex.

  16. I would love to know your secret for the wonderful paint job on the oak frame. I have several of these that I have just been thinking of getting rid of because I don't like the dated look of the oak. Your distressing looks great. If you have time to post here, I would love to learn more.

It certainly wasn't thrifty but that doesn't mean I don't thrift in other areas of my home. I love the thrill of the hunt! I really love the little picture the best! I like to stool too. It looks great with the vintage typewriter. So glad you stopped by because now I've met you and I love your wonderful blog! I'm following along now!
